Who am I…
I am a visionary who believes that movement is a stepping stone for self-discovery. I create movement sequences that forage a path of remembrance to live a life closer to truth.
Why I create…
My work is an invitation into self-actualization.
Self-actualization is the process of realizing and fulfilling one’s potential to lead a more meaningful and true life. It involves personal growth, being brave, and being honest, to bring about a more enlivened YOU.
I believe that there are “Narratives of the Soul” or blueprints that lie within each person. This “Narrative of the Soul” shares our soul’s mission and aids un into asking that question of “why we are here…”
Movement is the tool that I use to mine this material from our beings and bring it into form to be deciphered, contemplated, and embodied. From here, our truth and our path of remembrance can begin. Our “Path of remembrance” is awakened by movement sequences fueled by integrous inquiry. This personal excavation extracts wisdom that allows for our truth to become our compass. Its these sequences of movement that push a person beyond themselves is an invitation to self-actualization.
Choreographic Process:
My movement is a stepping stone for self-discovery.
My current choreographic process has been an excavation of self as a way to deepen and narrate my origin story. I am interested in how movement can be used to ripen one's intuition and foster an experience that encourages introspection. If an aspect of our journey as humans is to find and live in our truth then movement can be used as a tool to unearth this path and support an existence of authentic expression. My movement/choreography acts as a bridge to a deepened sense of self.
